The Solar Impulse now has just one final more trip before reaching its final destination, Abu Dhabi, where it started its journey in March last year.
The aircraft is just about the weight of a standard car, but with the wingspan of a Boeing 747.
It is being flown on a 35,400 kilometre trip round the world in stages.
The plane set off from Seville on Monday morning, passed through Algerian, Tunisian, Italian and Greek airspace, and flew over the Giza Pyramids before touching down at Cairo airport at around 0510 GMT.
The plane’s pilots say having passengers on solar powered planes may not happen soon, they are optimistic electric ones will soar our skies not long from now.
