The Federal Government is committed to gradually upgrade the Tertiary Health Facilities in the country for effective healthcare in order to reduce Medical Tourism.
The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole said this while on a visit to some health facilities in Enugu.
At the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu, the health minister said efforts are on to adopt the public private partnership model in developing the infrastructure in order to augment budgetary provision and fast track development, urging the management and staff to ensure peace and tranquility to promote qualitative healthcare.
Professor Adewole also visited the National Orthopedic Hospital and Psychiatric Hospital upgrade Tertiary Health facilities in Enugu where he urged the workers to support the Federal Government to stem the tide of Medical Tourism.
He also disclosed that his team is working towards creating Psychiatric training unit in Primary Health Care.
