Mitsubishi Motors admits cheating fuel tests since 1991
Mitsubishi Motors has admitted to falsifying some fuel consumption tests since 1991.
The admission follows last week's revelation that it had falsified fuel economy data for more than 600,000 vehicles sold in Japan."For the domestic market, we have been using that method since 1991," said vice-president Ryugo Nakao at a press conference in Tokyo on Tuesday.
The number of models affected was not yet known, he added.

Man Sentenced 3 Years For N3.8m Credit Card Scam
Justice Kuewumi Babs of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has convicted and sentenced Abdulhakeem Daud to three years imprisonment for credit card fraud.
The convict was arraigned before the court on Thursday on a two-count charge bordering on possession and fraudulent use of credit card. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was subsequently convicted and sentenced to three years in prison.

Senate Summons NSA, service chiefs on efforts to rescue Chibok Girls
The Senate on Thursday summoned the National Security Adviser (NSA) and security chiefs to brief it on efforts to rescue Government Secondary School girls abducted two years ago at Chibok, Borno.
The order on the NSA and all security chiefs to appear at the senate followed a motion by Sen. Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West) which was co-sponsored by three other senators.After a unanimous adoption of the motion, the senate urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the release of the girls and that security agencies should do everything possible to rescue them.
It also urged the Federal Government to take over the rebuilding of the school to alleviate the sufferings of students.

A witness, Mr Teslim Ajuwon, on Thursday told a Lagos High Court sitting in lgbosere that between August 2014 and October 2015, a total sum of N1.5 billion was transferred into various companies’ accounts from the account of Nigeria Maritime Administration Safety Agency (NIMASA) in one bank.
Ajuwon, who was a compliance officer with a new generation bank, was led in evidence by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s Prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo.He gave the evidence at the commencement of trial of the former Director-General of NIMASA, Patrick Akpobolokemi, charged with stealing N754.7 million.
