Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC), an anti-corruption coalition, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe Senator Dino Melaye over his “flamboyant and opulent lifestyle”. In the petition signed by Olanrewaju Suraju, the chairman of CSNAC, the group mentioned several instances of questionable wealth belonging to the senator representing Kogi West senatorial district. The anti-corruption coalition recalled the media report claiming that Melaye purchased a home in Abuja estimated at 1.3 billion Naira. “The said property which is located at 11 Sangha Street, off Mississippi Street, in the Maitama upscale neighbourhood of the city, boasts leafy trees, ornate Roman-style columns, and decadent chandeliers hanging from its high ceilings. According to the report, the property is currently undergoing some renovations with an indoor swimming pool,” the petition read in part.
Nigerians wondered if is it a part of #BuyNaijaToGrowNaija campaign aimed at encouraging patronage of made in Nigeria products and grow the country’s currency.
