The R&B hitmaker is set to wed American football star Russell Wilson in the English countryside this week.
However, Thursday's semi-final means Serena will have to miss out so she can focus on her game.
A source tells The Sun: 'Serena is close pals with Ciara and gleefully accepted her offer to be bridesmaid.
'However, Ciara always knew her attendance would be Wimbledon dependent and as she’s one of the favourites, there was a high chance she would not attend.'
The couple were spotted at a rehearsal dinner in Liverpool on Tuesday night.
E! reports that the couple had their pre-wedding dinner at Stanley's Bar and Grill at the Titanic Hotel.
The couple are in the UK with 100 of their closest friends and family for the nuptials.
TMZ has a picture of the 30-year-old wearing a stunning white halterneck gown under a white jacket as she and Russell, 27, walk down cobblestones outside the hotel.
The ceremony is expected to take place at Peckforton Castle, situated in the nearby county of Cheshire.
Us Magazine reports that there will be plenty of stars in the wedding party including Lala Anthony, Kelly Rowland and Serena Williams as her bridesmaids.
The Body Party hitmaker had her bachelorette party in Las Vegas last month with her girlfriends.
Ciara and Russell started dating in April 2015 and got engaged in March while vacationing in Seychelles.
The marriage news comes as the singer-actress, whose full name is Ciara Princess Harris, continues with her $15 million defamation suit against her ex, rapper Future, for comments he made regarding her parenting skills and her new relationship.
