Students protest over planned increases in tuition fees in Stellenbosch

Wits University student president Kefentse Mkhari has warned that they will make  South Africa ungovernable if the government doesn’t not heed their call for free education this week, the Eyewitness News reports

The Eyewitness quotes him saying;

“Right now we want free education and if government won’t commit itself to giving us free education, we will run this country ungovernable.”

Mkhari warned that they planned to approach the South African Council of Churches and taxi associations to support their cause this week.

Previously the students marched to Cosatu house to call on the trade union federation to join their struggle for free education.
