Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, will represent President Muhammadu Buhari in a scheduled official visit to Lagos State, the nation’s commercial nerve.
“President Buhari needs more time for Lagos and for Edo which had earlier been stepped down.
“As a result of this, the visit has been scaled down and he is being represented by the Vice President, who is going to Lagos to commission a few projects, leaving the rest for Mr President.
“The President will undertake the visits after the Ramadan,” the source said.
A statement by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, had said that the State government would formally welcome President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, May 23, on a two-day working visit to the state.
The visit would have been President Buhari’s first official visit to the state since he assumed office about a year ago.
