Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 32 suspected kidnappers and the rescue of 21 abductees.
There are weapons of various calibre were also recovered in the course of Police raids across the state.
Kano has been held to ransom by the activities of kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminals in recent months with an estimated 35 cases of kidnapping reported and many people declared missing.
According CP Maigari Dikko, with support from the people of Kano State, the command was able to put into custody many people suspected of various crimes and recovered dangerous weapons.
Although CP Dikko said that investigation was still ongoing, most of the suspects admitted that they have committed various crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery to rape, car snatching among other crimes.
As the command prepared to hand over the suspects to court, the Police vowed that ambush units of the command would resume the manhunt of the fleeing suspects.
